Simon Stiell is a Grenadian politician and environmentalist who has been serving as the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) since August 2022. Early Life and Education
Stiell trained as an engineer at London Metropolitan University and the College of North West London. He also holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Westminster in the United Kingdom.
Career
Before entering public service, Stiell had a successful 14-year career in the technology sector, holding senior executive positions in Silicon Valley-based startups and major corporations, including Nokia and G.E.C.
In Grenada, he served as a senior minister from 2013 to June 2022, holding portfolios such as Minister for Climate Resilience and the Environment, Minister for Education and Human Resource Development, and Minister of State with responsibility for Human Resource Development and the Environment.
