Solving Earth’s Biggest Problems From 50,000 Feet

How are we solving Earth’s biggest problems? David Goldsmith, consultant, inventor, advisor, speaker, serial entrepreneur, and author of Paid to THINK, was recently a guest on the Going Green podcast, and shared some great insight into how we should move forward as a society when it comes to solving climate change, and other major problems we are facing. David thinks the best way to solve our biggest problem is by looking at it from the biggest possible perspective. Let’s look at what David identifies as the biggest concerns we face, and what David’s proposed solutions are.

The Problems We Face

When it comes to the biggest problems we face, David has broken them down into six categories: Climate Change, Mass Extinction, Unintended Consequences, Social Displacement, Resource Depletion, and Political Unrest.

When looking at these six categories, it is an intimidating list that can cause even the smartest people on the planet to have a small existential crisis. But when it comes to fixing things, the first step is to identify what is wrong. Now that we have the biggest problems we face right in front of us, we can begin the process of solving them.

Solving Earth’s Biggest Problems

David has a bold proposition for everyone here on Earth: let’s take a step back and solve our problems by utilizing space, starting with setting up “four walls and a roof” on the Moon. From there, we can take steps to make progress in space as well as solve our problems here on Earth.

What Is Project Moon Hut

The Project Moon Hut Foundation is currently an over four-year collaborative effort in conjunction with NASA to achieve sustainable life (as compared to self-sustaining life) on the Moon through the accelerated development of a space-based economy. It is the marriage of humankind’s desire to “reach for the stars” and its practical aim to improve life on Earth through space exploration and development.

Project Moon Hut is considered an essential driver of our next frontier, space—and including the 297,000 miles (or nearly 480,000 kilometers) between our planet and its Moon, hereafter referred to as “Mearth”—to build the space-based economy. Project Moon Hut seeks to elicit worldwide participation through an easily accessible and inclusive network* (explained in section II below) for the purpose of solving the many challenges we face here, thus enhancing, extending, and/or preserving life for Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, Protista, Archaea/Archaeabacteria, and Bacteria/Eubacteria.

Project Moon Hut’s global team, which spans throughout North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, works diligently to promulgate the project’s parallel future-focused vision, the Age of Infinite, a redefined tomorrow of infinite possibilities. For example, imagine accessing unlimited power to heat everyone’s homes in the winter and to cool them in the summer, having greatly expanded use of metals such as platinum and iron, or opening millions of jobs to increasingly disenfranchised groups of people through the expansion of current industries or the generation of new industries.

Project Moon Hut invites participation from all individuals, organizations, commerce, governments, militaries, and education worldwide who have an honest and benevolent desire to share its purpose and further its objectives.
