Early Life and Education
Born on August 6, 1976, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, Regan developed a deep appreciation for the environment through outdoor activities with his family. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Environmental Science from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and a Master of Public Administration from George Washington University.
Career
Regan began his career at the EPA, serving during the Clinton and Bush administrations. He later joined the Environmental Defense Fund, focusing on climate and air quality initiatives. In 2017, he was appointed Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, where he addressed issues such as coal ash management and water contamination. In March 2021, Regan was confirmed as EPA Administrator, becoming the first Black man and second person of color to lead the agency.
