Leah C. Stokes is the Anton Vonk Associate Professor of Environmental Politics in the Department of Political Science at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). Early Life and Education
Stokes earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and East Asian Studies from the University of Toronto. She pursued a Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science and Policy at Columbia University, followed by a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Public Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). In the 2023–2024 academic year, Stokes is on leave at Harvard University’s Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, working on a new book that documents the rise of climate policy on the national agenda and its culmination in the Inflation Reduction Act.
