Get Rich And Change the Planet? Entrepreneurs Say Yes

Leonardo DiCaprio Talking To President Barack Obama about sustainability

I’m just going to throw this out there because people need to hear it. You can get rich and you can change the world. These two things are not mutually exclusive. Let me repeat that – it is possible to get rich and change the planet.

I’ve had thousands of conversations with friends, family, and colleagues about their careers, their goals, and what they want to do with their life. I realized there is one thing that people have in common that transcends age, race, and income status: people are always wondering ‘What am I doing with my life?’ regardless of what they have accomplished and how much money they have in the bank.

Live The Life You Want

I learned a long time ago that you have to have money to live. Duh, sounds obvious. But aside from just living, the more money you have the healthier you can be, your stress levels go down, you can invest in yourself, and you can make bigger life decisions. Because of this, I’ve always wanted to get rich.

While Ive always wanted to be rich, I am not completely consumed by making money. I care more about fostering healthy relationships and supporting others, than I care about padding my bank account.

For a long time I thought it wasn’t possible to make money and help the planet, and the people around me. That’s a lie. You’re told growing up you get a 9-5 job and work that until you retire. That’s a lie. You’re told to consume things and buy things because it will make you happy. That’s a lie.

I learned it is possible to make money and give back at the same time. So here is how you can do it too in a few basic steps.

Start A Business

1. Start a business. Starting a business allows you to control your own destiny. Select an industry that interests you, that you have some knowledge in, and research and come up with a service or product that competes with the other leaders in the space.

I know, starting a business isn’t ‘easy’ per se, but millions of other people have done it before, and so can you. There are countless resources to teach you how to start a business. Books, YouTube videos, classes, and coaches are all available to help you, even if you have zero budget. Just start researching and teaching yourself.

Work In Sustainable Industry

2. Work in a sustainable industry. It is a fact that sustainable industries are growing. People are choosing to be more conscious about buying and supporting businesses that promote sustainability. Investors are putting money into clean technology that is proving growth.

Be Environmentally Friendly

3. Update your current business to be more environmentally friendly. Partner with local businesses that promote sustainability, source products that are recycled, and donate proceeds to non-profits.

When you look at the richest people in the world, nearly all of them are CEOs and Entrepreneurs. Some of them have started businesses in industries like solar, electric vehicles, and infrastructure to build around the growth of these industries. Even the most successful entrepreneurs who’s business is not specifically in the space, donate to charities that promote sustainability, or have taken efforts to make their businesses more environmentally friendly.

The point is – now is the time to start a business, and focus on something that makes the world a better place, and something you are passionate about.

With smartphones in our pockets, and the internet connecting us, it is the easiest time in history to start a business. You can register an LLC online in twenty minutes, set up social media platforms for your company, and start reaching out to friends and family to sell your product and service. From there, there are endless resources available to grow, market, and scale your business.

Where It Started

I started my business in 2018 because I was sick of working 9-5 and making someone else rich. I saw the potential to capitalize on the changing media industry to build my business. I applied my career knowledge and built a business around principles that I stand by. Since that time, I have had thousands of people support my message, and hundreds of clients utilize my products and services.

Today, millions of companies and entrepreneurs have tapped into the power of the media industry to grow their business using content creation, less capture, email campaigns, and social media to build brands and reach new clients and customers. The emergence of “influencers” as much as we all hate that word, has proven that thousands of people are able to micro influence people around them and get paid to do it.

Now is the time to get out there and make it happen. Yes you can get rich. Yes you can save the planet. Yes you can help others. Yes you can do what makes you happy.
