Meet Dylan Welch, Executive Producer of Going Green.

Dylan Welch, Executive Producer of Going Green

We’d like to introduce you to Dylan Welch, the Executive Producer of Going Green.

So what exactly do you do?
I am a television producer, meaning I conceptualize television shows and media content, and get enough funding, sponsors, and partners to ensure production costs are covered. From there, I oversee the writing, directing, filming, editing, and distribution of the show to make sure the content is amazing and it gets in front of the right people.

Tell us a little bit about you and your background:
My background is in media and television production. I have produced over 1,000 television episodes airing on ABC, CBS, CW, Amazon Prime, Roku, and AppleTV. My goal is to use my knowledge of the media industry to provide a voice to an industry that has a major impact on everyone’s lives.

What was your motivation to get into this industry?
I think there was a need for someone to step up and say “Hey, I’m going to put the spotlight on people who are really making a difference.” Combined with my knowledge of production and distribution, I have the ability to use the power of mass media to help others. I do not have any particular skill sets or unique knowledge in the clean technology, sustainability, or climate change space, so I’m helping out the best way I can.

Why do you think climate change/sustainability is such an important topic today?
I think it is important because it effects every single living and non living thing on the planet. If we do not actively make a change to our lifestyle as well as uphold corporations and industries to strict regulations, we will continue to see the negative long term effects. It is the people’s responsibility to make sure the government and businesses who have an effect on this understand that people take this very seriously.

What can the average person do to make a difference?
I personally don’t know the correct answer to this, which is why I am trying to ask as many people as I can! I have learned that using a reusable water bottle is a great way to start, as well as eliminate single use plastics.

Thank you Dylan!
